DMV forms for dealers, all 50 states, filled in from the deal

Last updated

Your state’s title and registration paperwork is already in GARAGEBIRDS, wherever your lot is. Over 300 official forms across all 50 states are built in, and each one fills itself in from the deal: the buyer, the car, the VIN, the odometer and the price. No downloading blanks from the state’s website for every sale, and no writing the same VIN onto four sheets.

All of it is on the Free plan: every built-in form is on the Free plan, with no limit.

Which forms are built in

The government forms a dealer fills in to sell, title and register a car. Which ones exist, and what each state calls them, differs from state to state; across the 50 states the set includes:

Some states publish a handful of forms and some a dozen or more. To see exactly which forms your state uses and what each one is for, open its page below.

How a form fills itself in

  1. Start the deal. Pick the car from your inventory and the buyer from your contacts — or add a new one.
  2. Open the deal’s documents. Your state’s forms are listed there.
  3. Preview each form filled in. The buyer’s name and address, the year, make, model and VIN, the odometer reading and the sale price are already on it, taken from the vehicle record and the deal.
  4. Print on plain paper, or download the PDF. Then sign in ink.

Forms used outside a retail sale fill in the vehicle’s details only. If something on the form is wrong, correct it on the deal or the vehicle and the forms follow — every form reads the same record, so the title application and the bill of sale can’t disagree.

Forms by state

Each state has a page listing its dealer title and registration forms, with a link to each official form on the state’s own website.

Selling between private parties, or getting licensed? The paperwork hub has a private-sale page and a dealer-license guide for every state too.

Your own documents, too

The state’s forms are only part of a deal jacket. Your buyer’s order, retail installment contracts and disclosures can fill themselves in the same way with Smart Print Forms, on Pro: upload each document once, point its blanks at the deal, and every deal after that prints it filled in.

Does GARAGEBIRDS have the DMV forms for my state?

Yes. Over 300 official forms across all 50 states are built in, from title applications and bills of sale to odometer disclosures and powers of attorney, and they fill in from the deal.

Are the state forms really free?

Yes. Every built-in form is on the Free plan, with no limit on forms or deals and no credit card. Pro adds Smart Print Forms for your own documents, and finance desking.

Do I need special paper or a calibrated printer?

No. The built-in forms print complete — the form and the values together — on plain paper from any printer, or download as a PDF.

Where do the forms come from?

They are the states’ own official forms. Each state’s page links to the form on the state’s website, so you can always check you have the current version.

Is this legal advice?

No. GARAGEBIRDS fills in the forms; which ones a sale needs, and the rules around them, are set by your state. Check with your state’s motor vehicle agency when in doubt.
